Method
Make the butter board
- Spread the softened salted butter across a wooden board using the back of a spoon, making swooshes and swirls.
- Drizzle the honey over the butter in a thin, even layer.
- Scatter the chopped dried cranberries, chopped pistachios, orange zest, and finely chopped fresh rosemary evenly over the top.
- Finish with flaky sea salt and red pepper flakes, then let the board sit for 2-3 minutes so toppings adhere.
- Serve immediately with torn or sliced baguette or crusty sourdough for swiping.
Notes
For the smoothest spread, use salted butter softened until it dents easily but still holds shape. Refrigerate leftovers in a covered container up to 3 days; the texture may firm up, so let it sit at room temperature 10 minutes before serving again. Freezing isn’t recommended because the toppings and butter texture change. If you need a dairy-free swap, use a high-quality dairy-free butter spread with a similar firmness and stir in a pinch of extra salt to keep the flavor balanced.
