Ingredients

Grenadine syrup
  • 0.25 cup grenadine syrup Use regular grenadine syrup.
Lemonade
  • 0.5 cup lemonade, chilled Chill until cold for sharper layer separation.
Blue raspberry layer
  • 0.25 cup blue raspberry sports drink or blue raspberry lemonade, chilled Chill before layering; either option works for the top color.
Ice
  • 1 ice cubes Fill the glass almost to the top.
Garnish
  • 1 maraschino cherries and striped straws for garnish Top the drink and serve immediately.

Method

Build the layers
  1. Fill a tall clear glass with ice cubes almost to the top, leaving a little headspace for each float layer.
  2. Pour grenadine syrup slowly over the ice; it should sink to the bottom as the first layer.
  3. Gently pour the chilled lemonade over the back of a spoon held just above the ice to create a clean middle layer.
  4. Pour the blue raspberry drink over the spoon in the same way to float it as the top layer.
Finish and serve
  1. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and a striped straw, then serve immediately without stirring.

Notes

Pro tip: keep the lemonade and blue raspberry drink very cold, and pour slowly with the spoon held just above the ice so the layers stay distinct. Store any leftover components separately in the fridge for up to 2 days, but assemble fresh for best layering (freezing not recommended for this effect). For a lower-sugar option, use sugar-free lemonade and a sugar-free blue raspberry drink.
