Ingredients
  

Cinnamon roll base
  • 2 can (12.4 oz) refrigerated cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting Keep frosting packets; you’ll mix one with maple syrup.
Pumpkin custard
  • 4 eggs
  • 0.5 cup pumpkin puree
  • 0.33 cup heavy cream
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp salt
Maple cream cheese drizzle
  • 2 cream cheese frosting packets from the rolls Use both packets.
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

Method
 

Prep and preheat
  1. Preheat the oven to 350F and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
Assemble the rolls
  1. Cut each cinnamon roll into quarters and scatter the pieces into the prepared dish.
Make the pumpkin custard
  1. Whisk the eggs, pumpkin puree, heavy cream, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
Bake
  1. Pour the pumpkin custard mixture evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces.
  2. Let the bake soak for 5 minutes at room temperature, then bake at 350F for 30 to 35 minutes until puffed and golden.
Frost and serve
  1. Mix the cream cheese frosting packets with the maple syrup, then drizzle over the warm bake.

Notes

To get the best custard soak, let the dish sit for the full 5 minutes before baking so the center puffs up instead of staying bready. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container up to 3 days; reheat individual portions in the microwave until warm. Freezing isn’t recommended because the cinnamon roll texture softens after thawing. For a lighter option, use evaporated milk or half-and-half in place of heavy cream (texture will be slightly less rich).
